When Dr. F.W. Mattox, the first President of LCU, arrived at the plot of land that would soon become our university, the first words he spoke were, "I can just picture it all in my head."

Over 50 years later, LCU has grown and expanded, but our initial vision has remained the same: we are the life changing university. With over 9,000 alumni spanning across the globe, the mission of LCU is spread through each of our graduates and students.

To be blue means to share the university values of learning, character, and citizenship with everyone with whom we interact. To be blue means to take part in the long and rich heritage and tradition of Lubbock Christian University.
